About our privacy policy

USUALS cares a great deal about your privacy. We therefore process only the data we need to provide or improve our services, and we handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and of the services made available on it by USUALS. This privacy policy is valid from 05/11/2026; when a new version is published, all previous versions cease to be valid. This privacy policy describes what data we collect about you, what this data is used for, and with whom and under what conditions it may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect it against misuse and what rights you have with regard to the personal data you have provided to us.
If you have any questions about our privacy policy, please contact our contact person for privacy matters; you will find the contact details at the end of this privacy policy.

About our data processing

Below you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), what security techniques we use and who can see the data.

Online shop software

Our online shop has been developed using software from Shopify. Personal data that you make available to us for the purposes of our services is shared with this party. Shopify has access to your data in order to provide us with (technical) support; it will never use your data for any other purpose.
Under the agreement we have concluded with Shopify, Shopify is obliged to take appropriate security measures. These security measures consist of the use of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Shopify uses cookies to collect technical information about your use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored.
Shopify reserves the right to share collected data within its own group of companies in order to further improve its services.

Web hosting

We use web hosting and email services from One.com. One.com processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of its services. This metadata is not personal data. One.com has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent the loss and unauthorised use of your personal data. One.com is bound by a duty of confidentiality under the agreement.

We use the services of One.com for our regular business email. This party has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and corruption of your data and ours as far as possible. One.com has no access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email correspondence as confidential.

Payment processors

To handle (some of) the payments in our online shop, we use the Mollie platform. Mollie processes your name, address and place of residence and your payment details, such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share (anonymised) data with third parties. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to those parts of Mollie's services for which it engages third parties. Mollie does not retain your data for longer than the statutory periods allow.

Reviews

We collect reviews via the Okendo platform. If you leave a review via Okendo, you are required to provide a name and email address. Okendo shares this data with us so that we can link the review to your order. Okendo also publishes your name on its own website. In some cases, Okendo may contact you to ask for further explanation of your review. If we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and email address with Okendo. It uses this data solely for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. Okendo has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data.
Okendo reserves the right to engage third parties in order to provide its services, and we have given Okendo permission to do so. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to those parts of the services for which Okendo engages third parties.

Shipping and logistics

DHL, Bpost, DPD

When you place an order with us, it is our job to have your parcel delivered to you. We use the services of DHL, Bpost and DPD to carry out deliveries. For this purpose, we need to share your name, address and place of residence with DHL, Bpost and DPD. DHL, Bpost and DPD use this data solely for the purpose of performing the contract. If DHL, Bpost or DPD engage subcontractors, they also make your data available to these parties.

Invoicing and accounting

We use the services of Shopify to keep our records and accounts. We share your name, address and place of residence and the details of your order. This data is used to administer sales invoices. Your personal data is transmitted and stored securely.
Shopify is bound by a duty of confidentiality and will treat your data confidentially. Shopify does not use your personal data for any purposes other than those described above.

Purpose of data processing

General purpose of processing

We use your data solely for the purposes of our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the order you place with us. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use it to contact you at a later time other than at your request, we will ask for your explicit consent to do so. Your data is not shared with third parties, other than to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations.
These third parties are all bound by confidentiality under the agreement between them and us, an oath or a legal obligation.

Automatically collected data

Data collected automatically by our website is processed in order to further improve our services. This data (for example your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not personal data.

Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations

In certain cases, USUALS may be required by law to share your data in connection with a tax or criminal investigation by the authorities. In such a case, we are obliged to share your data, but we will oppose this to the extent the law allows us to.

Retention periods

We retain your data for as long as you are a customer of ours. This means that we retain your customer profile until you tell us that you no longer wish to use our services. If you tell us this, we will also treat it as a request for erasure. Under applicable administrative obligations, we are required to retain invoices containing your (personal) data, so we will retain this data for as long as the applicable period runs.
However, our staff will no longer have access to your customer profile or to the documents we have produced in connection with your order.

Your rights

Under applicable Belgian and European legislation, you, as a data subject, have certain rights with regard to the personal data processed by us or on our behalf. Below we explain what these rights are and how you can exercise them.
In principle, to prevent misuse, we send extracts and copies of your data only to the email address we already have on file for you. If you wish to receive the data at a different email address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to prove your identity. We keep a record of the requests we have dealt with; in the case of a request for erasure, we record anonymised data. You will receive all extracts and copies of data in the machine-readable data format that we use within our systems.
You have the right at any time to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, GBA) if you suspect that we are using your personal data incorrectly.

Right of access

You always have the right to access the data that we process (or have processed on our behalf) and that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you, at the email address we have on file for you, a copy of all the data together with an overview of the processors that hold this data, stating the category under which we have stored it.

Right to rectification

You always have the right to have the data that we process (or have processed on our behalf) and that relates to you or can be traced back to you corrected. You can submit a request to this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you, at the email address we have on file for you, confirmation that the data has been corrected.

Right to restriction of processing

You always have the right to restrict the processing of the data that we process (or have processed on our behalf) and that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to this effect to our contact person for privacy matters.
You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you, at the email address we have on file for you, confirmation that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right to data portability

You always have the right to have the data that we process (or have processed on our behalf) and that relates to you or can be traced back to you processed by another party. You can submit a request to this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you, at the email address we have on file for you, extracts or copies of all the data about you that we have processed or that has been processed on our behalf by other processors or third parties. In such a case, we will in all likelihood no longer be able to continue providing our services, as the secure linking of data files can then no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights

Where applicable, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of USUALS. If you object, we will immediately stop processing the data pending the handling of your objection. If your objection is justified, we will make extracts and/or copies of the data that we process (or have processed on our behalf) available to you and then permanently stop the processing.
You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies. If you believe that it does, please contact our contact person for privacy matters.

Cookies

Google Analytics

Our website places cookies from the American company Google as part of its 'Analytics' service. We use this service to keep track of, and obtain reports on, how visitors use the website. This processor may be required under applicable laws and regulations to provide access to this data. We have not permitted Google to use the analytics information obtained for other Google services.

Third-party cookies

Where third-party software solutions use cookies, this is stated in this privacy policy.

Changes to the privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend our privacy policy at any time. However, you will always find the most recent version on this page. If the new privacy policy affects the way in which we process data already collected about you, we will notify you by email.
